Beware of electronic ASIC scam

We're currently aware of a scam where some clients receive an email claiming to be from ASIC and asking them to renew.

Any correspondence is likely not from ASIC if:
• any websites do not include 'ASIC' and it does not include ASIC logo, or
• the fees are different to the fees on the ASIC website

Scam emails often contain links that provide you with an invoice that has fake payment details or infects your computer with malware.

To help protect yourself from similar cyber scams:
• keep your anti-virus software up to date
• be wary of emails that don't address you by name, misspell your details or have unknown attachments
• don't click any links in a suspicious email

• If you think you might have provided personal details or paid money to a scam, please contact your bank or financial institution immediately.

If you receive any suspicious email or mails from government departments, please feel free to contact your RCB Advisors team member for assistance of verifying the legitimacy of the senders.
